A most interesting and rare set of rocks, minerals and fossils from the Mont Blanc massif.
Collected and classified by the Swiss surgeon and naturalist Louis Jurine (1751-1819) and mineralogist Cyprian Brard (1786-1838).
The collection of 140 specimens is housed in a wooden box, layed over two trays and comes with the original printed catalogue. From number 81 the list is hand written.
A simular set of Mont Blanc minerals is in the collection of Teylers Museum, Haarlem.
