A good Victorian Mahogany Wellington Chest.
It has a rectangular top above seven graduating drawers (the typical design of a wellington chest, one for each day of the week!). All the drawers are mahogany lined with turned handles. A hinged flap overlaps the drawers on one side and is fitted with a lock and has still its original with working lock and key. The chest is framed with beautifully carved corbels and stands on a plain plinth.
Dimensions: 105 cm high, 51 cm wide, 35 cm deep.
England, ca 1870.
